Luxuries of living in India

Some of the luxuries of living in India.... is being able to afford a cook, a driver, a maid to take care of the household and maid to help me with Vaibhav.

Believe me or not inspite of having all this help..I hardly have time to do things for myself ... My son claims most of it...he's gotten extremely clingy... it's gotten so worse that he will be waiting for me outside the bathroom knocking for me to get out....I hope this is just a phase he is going through....( hats off to all the single mothers out there) Also unlike in the U.S one has to constantly train and monitor all the employees to get the job done to your taste.I should say I have been extremely fortunate to find really good help ...they are good at their job and are quick learners.

Holding the best to the last... the ultimate luxury for Kamal & I is to have a yoga teacher come to our home and teach us Yoga five days a week. It's been almost 10 days since we started taking lessons...we love our teacher(Shiva Kumar), He has been practising yoga for the past 14 years....He is a postgraduate with a law degree...who chose yoga over law.

Kamal and I are really loving it.

Driving lessons

1) Don't know how to drive a stick shift
2) Have to drive on the left side of the road
3) Traffic can come from anywhere and there's too much of it
4) Almost nobody follows the traffic rules
5) Two wheelers,four wheeler's, pedestrian's,some times animal's use the same road

For the above mentioned reasons, Kamal and I have started taking driving lessons. It's a nightmare driving here in Hyderabad...it's almost like playing a car racing video game...without high speeds.Kamal's ready to get his driving license..but I need a little more practice... will venture out to get our license in the next couple of week's.

It was our third wedding anniversary on Monday June 16.....so I ventured out to buy a card for my dear Husband.I had a hard time finding the right card as there was limited choice..any how!!!!!!, I picked out a card ...pulled out 100 Rupees thinking that it would be more than enough ( $1 = Rupees 42) to pay, for the card and a chocolate I picked at the check out counter.I was a little shocked when the cashier asked me for Rs.120.....it then struck me that its been almost 9yrs that I shopped for a card in India and prices have gone up since then. I remember paying Rs.20 for a really nice card.I think my mind is still stuck at the time point when I left India for U.S.We had a similar experience when we went out to watch Indiana Jones...we payed Rs.200/ticket...earlier I remember paying Rs.70 for the best seats. ( I think I am outdated here in India Hhmmmmmm ....!!!!!) Will need some more time to get used to the newer India.

Blogger Notice

Well...here's the story....The day after my first posting...with great excitement I logged on to post some pictures...to my disappointment I found that my blog was locked. It was identified as a potentital spam blog by automatic spam detection.
I was unable to publish posts until review of my site by the blogger team and confirm it is not a spam blog.

Finally !!!!!!!!...here are some pictures of the street side fruit stalls with different varieties of mangoes and other fruits.Mango is the national fruit of India with more than 100 varieties in a range of colors, sizes and shapes and has been in cultivation for 4000 yrs.An average size mango has about 40 percent of daily required fiber and is high in antioxidents, vitamin A, C and D and is known as the king of fruit.I think my favorite fruit deserves at least that much of praise:)
